We're hiring

About Kose

Kose is a consumer super-app built for Africa. We've launched in Harare with e-hailing for riders and drivers, with more services on the way. As we grow, we're building a digital presence that reflects the people and communities we serve.

Listening to our community is central to how we work. It helps us understand local needs and build an experience that feels at home here. This is your chance to help shape the voice of an ambitious Zimbabwean consumer tech company from the ground up.

The role

You'll be Kose's voice online: creating content, growing our community and looking after our audience. You'll own our social channels and WhatsApp communities from planning and posting to engagement and support.

You'll also listen closely to riders, drivers and our wider community, identify their needs and challenges, and bring those insights to the team. Working directly with the founder and operations team, you'll help turn what we hear into better experiences.

This is an on-site role in Harare, with time in the field at events and activations. As Kose scales, the role grows into Community Manager, with the opportunity to build the team around you.

What you'll do

Shape the strategy

  • Monitor local, regional and international competitor communications, along with emerging trends that affect our community.
  • Contribute to Kose's community communications strategy.
  • Track progress against communications milestones.
  • Prepare regular reports on our community communications and what we're learning.

Create content

  • Plan and produce daily short videos, graphics and copy for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X and WhatsApp, guided by our communications strategy.
  • Capture real moments with drivers, riders and the city, including events and activations, and turn them into content people want to share.
  • Extend our radio, billboard and event campaigns with matching digital content.

Grow the community

  • Grow followers and meaningful engagement across Kose's channels.
  • Run and grow our WhatsApp communities, starting with our driver community.
  • Spot trends early and bring Kose into relevant conversations.
  • Coordinate with influencers and creators on campaigns.

Support our audience

  • Be the first response in DMs, comments and WhatsApp: fast, warm and helpful.
  • Resolve common questions and escalate technical or payment issues to operations with clear handovers.
  • Track recurring issues and share community feedback with the product and operations teams.

What we're looking for

  • A demonstrated understanding of how the e-hailing industry works, including what riders and drivers need, how platforms earn trust, and what makes people choose one service over another.
  • Knowledge of Kose and a clear point of view on how content, community and customer experience can help position Kose as the market leader.
  • 1 to 3 years in social media, content creation or community work, or a portfolio strong enough to show us you're ready.
  • The ability to shoot and edit short videos on a phone using CapCut or similar tools, and create clean graphics in Canva or similar software.
  • A natural understanding of how TikTok, Instagram and WhatsApp work, and what connects with people on each platform.
  • Excellent written English. Shona and Ndebele are a strong advantage.
  • Patience and warmth with customers, including on difficult days.
  • The initiative to manage a content calendar and get work out without being chased.
  • A base in Harare and a willingness to get out into the city where the stories are.

Nice to have

  • Experience at a startup, fintech, e-hailing company or consumer brand.
  • Community management or customer support experience.
  • Photography or videography skills beyond a phone.

What you get

  • A starting salary of US$500+ per month.
  • A clear growth path from Digital & Community Officer to Community Manager as Kose scales.
  • Direct access to the founder and real ownership from day one.
  • The opportunity to build the digital voice of a super-app from the ground up.
