Your Data, Your Control
You can request deletion of specific categories of personal data while keeping your Kose driver account active. This allows you to remove information you no longer want us to retain, without losing access to the platform or your earnings history.
Data deletion requests are processed in line with applicable privacy laws and Kose's legal obligations. Some data may be retained if required by law, for regulatory compliance, or to resolve disputes.
What Data Can Be Deleted
The following categories of personal data may be deleted upon request:
2.1 Trip History and Ride Records
Your complete trip history, including pickup/dropoff locations, times, duration, and associated metadata. This data will be permanently removed from your account dashboard and our analytics systems.
2.2 Uploaded Documents
Your driver's licence, vehicle registration, proof of insurance, and other identity/vehicle documents stored in your driver profile.
2.3 Chat Messages and Communication History
All messages, chat history, and communication records between you and riders, Kose support, or other platform users.
2.4 Profile Photo
Your driver profile picture. A default placeholder will be used until you upload a new photo.
2.5 Payment and Banking Details
Saved mobile money accounts, bank account information, and payment method details used for earnings disbursement.
What Cannot Be Deleted While Your Account Is Active
The following core account data must be retained to keep your Kose driver account active and functional:
- Your name and phone number — Required for account identity, trip matching, and legal obligations
- Active earnings awaiting payout — Cannot be deleted until disbursed; protects your right to payment
- Data required by law — Tax records, regulatory compliance documents, and legally mandated retention periods
- Dispute and complaint records — Retained as long as disputes or investigations are ongoing
If you wish to delete your name or phone number, you must first close your driver account entirely (see Section 6 below).
How to Request Data Deletion
You have three options to request deletion of your personal data:
4.1 Email Request
Send an email to drivers@kose.africa with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". Clearly specify which categories of data you want deleted. Include your driver name, phone number, and driver ID for verification.
4.2 In-App Support
Open the Kose driver app, navigate to Help > Contact Support, and submit a "Data Deletion" request through the support form. Our team will respond directly in the app.
4.3 Written Request
Mail a signed letter requesting data deletion to:

Include your driver name, phone number, and ID. Your letter must be signed and dated.
Processing Time
Data deletion requests are processed within 14 business days of receipt. Once processed, we will send you a confirmation email from drivers@kose.africa confirming which data has been deleted.
In some cases, deletion may take longer if:
- Your request requires verification or additional information from you
- The data is subject to a legal hold due to an ongoing dispute or investigation
- Deletion would violate regulatory or tax retention requirements
We will notify you of any delays and the reason for them.

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All data will be removed from our systems within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it.
